Q: Does St. Jude’s accept children that are not Catholic?
A: Yes, we are a diverse community and all are welcome.
Q: When do I need to enrol in Primary School?
A: Usually we ask for enrolments to be completed before the end of June the year prior to commencement.
This allows us to host a Family Meet and Greet in May/June to get to know you and your child.
We then have time to support where needed and you can join in our Playgroup which starts in July.
We do accept enrolments after June if there are positions available.
Q: What secondary schools do St. Jude’s children go onto attend?
A: Cooeducational options include: Emmaus College, Nazareth College and Aquinas College
Boys schools include: St. Joseph’s, Mazenod, Salesian and Whitefriars
Girls schools include: Mater Christi, Avila and Sacred Heart
Q: Does St. Jude’s accept enrolments throughout the year?
A: Yes, we have a process for welcoming new students and families during the school terms.
Q: How will I know if my child is ready for school?
A: Typically, Kinder staff will talk to families around May to discuss readiness for school the follow year.
You are welcome to enrol and then if need delay commencement until the following year.
What should parents look for in a school?

- Quality Teachers and Leaders – our staff are dedicated and approachable, the leaders are visible each day and have an open door policy.
- Facilities and Resources – our learning environment is well maintained and safe, we provide a range of spaces for children to learn and play.
- Extracurricular and Enrichment Opportunities – staff lead many lunchtime clubs (such as gardening, performing, coding, running and canva design) and third parties provide paid lessons (such as instrumental music, singing, drama, chess, robotics and martial arts)
- Communication and Parent Involvement – parent engagement is available via attending excursions, assisting with classroom and sport programs, joining the Parents Association and School Advisory Council.
- Student Wellbeing and Support – we have strong pastoral care programs, a range of wellbeing intiatives to build resilience and self care, clear behavioural expectations and processes for suspension and explusion.
